Review: Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery BB with SPF 50 PA +++

A few weeks back I was walking around Watsons and chanced upon this..

It was all over the store. I think there were at least 3 testers around the store!

I tried some on my hands and I really, really liked the texture and the light-medium coverage. What actually got my attention is the SPF 50, PA +++. I can't live without sunscreen yet sometimes I dread having to slap on my sunscreen THEN add on another BB cream or foundation. So nothing is better than a light BB product with such high SPF for everyday use, or when I need to run some quick errands or go to school and I don't want too heavy a coverage.

I got it a few days later cause I couldn't stop thinking about it ^^

Packaging

The Biore Aqua BB (the original name is too long, this is my short form haha) comes in a peachy-pink tube, almost exactly like the original Biore Aqua sunscreen in blue. Very lightweight and easy to bring around, I like! Haha.

Product

The packaging highlighted these points:

- Superior long-lasting sweat-proof double UV block
- Weightless texture with BB coverage
- 3D brightening effect
- Long-lasting oil control yet hydrating
- Gentle & mild

The Biore Aqua BB has a very lightweight texture. It is not sticky or heavy-duty like usual Korean BB creams, yet it doesn't leave your skin looking over matte. It has small glitter particles which I'm guessing are what's giving the "3D brightening effect" - I tend to stay away from glittery bases cause I am very, very oily. But this doesn't leave me looking oily cause the oil control properties are pretty good! It is also fairly long-lasting, I was impressed that I could just use a layer of this all over my face and it lasted throughout the whole day.

Swatches

The Biore Aqua BB comes in only one colour. I'm not sure if it will change and adjust into your own skin tone but it matches me pretty well :) It is of a light to medium coverage, very suitable for daily use.

Application

When I got this, I spread it onto my skin with my fingers, just like how I would use a sunscreen. But lately, I've been enjoying using it with the Real Techniques' buffing brush. Somehow with the brush this product doesn't set into my dry patches, and YES I AM STILL DEALING WITH STUPID DRY PATCHES >:(

Also, I rarely need to use concealer. It somehow just brightens and blurs everything out!

I've also tried using this as a base before putting heavier coverage foundations and I enjoyed it equally.

Comparison

As compared to my usual Skin 79 BB cream, this is very very light! I didn't even feel it on my skin, and sometimes I don't set it with any powder as well. This is my skin at the end of the day after almost 8 hours of wear~ You can see that everything is still pretty much in place (but my skin was also behaving itself and I didn't have a lot of problems to cover up).

Pardon the quality! Using iPhone 5's front camera, no filter at all.

Verdict

I definitely love and enjoy this product! I've been using this daily for almost 2 weeks now and I'm still very much enjoying it. It says a lot for me cause I change up my make-up products every other day. It is definitely very useful for the weather in Singapore, and you can also bring it around for touch-ups since it's so convenient to bring around.

Quick Summary

The great:
  • SPF 50 PA +++
  • Lightweight with good coverage
  • Long-lasting
  • Didn't break me out
The not-so-great:
  • Only one shade available
  • White cast in flash photography

The Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery BB is retailing in Watsons, Guardian, other major drugstores and supermarkets at S$19.90 each.

Anyone enjoying this as much as I do? :D

Review: Benefit Big Easy Liquid-to-Powder BB Cream

Ok, I cheated. The actual name is Benefit Big Easy Liquid-to-Powder multi-balancing complexion perfector. That is one huge, not easy bite of words. So I just had to buy it cause I'm a sucker for Benefit packaging. What's new?
So this BB cream is said to be lightweight and able to balance moisture and oil. It also has a liquid to powder finish so you don't need to set it with a powder. It also comes in 6 shades but it also has self-adjusting abilities. I guess if you picked up a shade that is slightly off, it will adjust to suit you? I like that it is oil-free and non-comodegenic. And it comes with a SPF of 35+!
(I also appreciate that Benefit didn't try to list a whole range of benefits that the BB cream will do to you. )
So I like that it is a squeeze tube and the amount to be squeezed out can be controlled very well. Thumbs up!

I'm not sure what this picture is suppose to show you hahaha but looking up close, it really finishes very well. Not too matte, not too glowy. More to a satiny finish. It also feels very smooth and doesn't have any strong scent.

This BB cream accentuate dry areas significantly. But it works fine for me in humid Singapore because in about 4 hours, the dry patches are hardly noticeable and my skin still looks matte and dey. In fact, I liked that it is dry because it means it will keep the oil at bay.

I am using no. 1 in Fair and I really like the color! It has a pink undertone and brightens my skin considerably. No. 2 in Light is also a nice color for fair-skinned if you are a yellow undertone. I use it on my cheeks, around my nose area and around my mouth. But keep in mind if your mouth area is dry, skip it. and if your undereye is dry, don't try. (hey, it rhymed)

I do recommend this for people with oiler skin and it does come in a whole range of shades so that's always good.

Have you tried this? What do you think about it?

Love,
Pea

Update// 6.50PM
I just checked my face and I am loving this BB cream! My natural oil has sipped through and my face is just slighty glowy. I applied this at around 745AM this morning and it is 11 hours alr! Normally my skin is an oily mess by now and I changed nth about my routine. I used my sunblock and Smashbox primer underneath and dust my Guerlain Meteorites Perles over the BB cream. I am so loving this oil control!

Review: Sunkiller BB Perfect Strong

[Products are not sponsored and all reviews are honest opinions!]

Hi everyone! :)

I recently bought this product… kinda accidentally. I wasn't looking for any new sunscreen or any of that sort, but stumbled upon this when I was with my friend. Honestly, I was attracted to its packaging, it was hot pink (!!!). I tried it on, felt the colour will match me pretty okay, and bought it.

It's the Sunkiller BB Perfect Strong SPF 50+/PA+++, available in Watsons. I bought mine from the Ion outlet.

Price: S$14.90
Weight: 30ml

Fully blended out!

The texture is very lightweight and liquid-y, almost like water (remember to shake before use). As expected, it doesn't cover up as well as normal BB creams, but evens out my skin tone
Because it is so lightweight, I don't really like to layer it. So when I need certain blemishes/scars to be covered, I'll just use concealer before setting powder to seal everything in!

A before and after pic to show the coverage:

I didn't use any concealer or powder, just the BB Perfect Strong alone.

I've tried this on for almost a week, and I feel pretty satisfied with it, except for the fact that it also clings on to dry patches and I happen to have some over the past week… So that was a total downer :(

Other than that, this is definitely a super convenient product to use for short errands or as a foundation base/primer! Not really sure if I'd repurchase it cause somehow I feel like it does the same stuff (or maybe less) than my daily BB cream :) However if you're looking for something light that will even out your skin tone and make you look fresher, this is a great product.

Have any of you tried this product before? Share some of your thoughts with us! ^.^

Till the next,
