Review: Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB cream (Natural green)

Hi Loves, today I'll be reviewing this pretty awesome Lioele BB cream that has been in the market for quite some time! It has currently replace all my foundations in my box and I have some pretty awesome ones so this says a lot. However, only certain beauty shops carry the brand and the shops can be found in Bugis street and Far East Plaza (with really scary pushy sales assistants). It currently retails at a really exorbitant price of $39.90 but I was so determined to try it and I'm afraid I LOVE IT FML.

I have been wearing it every day for the whole week and for someone who only use concealer to work cause of laziness, you can tell I really love this.

Packaging is sleek and c'mon, it's pink. I'm a sucker for packaging. That's how I live.
It also comes with a pump and I love that it's a 'controllable' pump and I can gauge the amount I need.  But the cap is pretty loose and I foresee it being lost in my Narnia room soon.

(No, I don't understand Korean) but it's pretty simple explanation. It comes in two shades - Gorgeous Purple and Natural Green. Purple brightens skin and Green reduces redness. Yes, the bb cream gets pumped out in those respective colors. A'lil scary but it blends beautifully.

Ok. I don't know about using it as a makeup base. I feel that it gives me enough coverage for a day to day basis  and if I really need more coverage, I would use other foundations such as the Covergirl or Shu eumura one. It does provide excellent coverage for normal good-skin days!

I got the natural green shade cause hell yeah, I'm all for covering redness. This amounts cover a good half of my face. The blendability is awesomeballz. It lasts for a normal working day for me which is up to 12 hours. For girls who are rushing, this comes with SPF 25 which is pretty alright if you're gonna be indoors mostly!
I take this as a normal foundation so I do use it with a primer and set it with Tarte Smooth Operator loose powder. I only need to blot once after about 6 hours of wear.
The BB cream finishes to a satin glowy kinda finish and I leave it that way on my cheeks but I do set my T-zone cause it gets pretty oily.

Pardon the hair hahaha so this is how I look after blusher and loose powder. I don't even need to use concealer cause my redness are all covered up. I really love the finish of it. It color corrects to match my neck so it's neither too pink/yellow. It doesn't oxidize to make me look like I tan my face only. It has none of the gray pasty finish like most bb creams. I love this and it's a definite repurchase for me.

Ok, thanks for reading!

Love,
Pea

Flo's January 2014 Favourites

Hi everyone! The first month of the new year flew by faster than I expected. Can’t believe we’re already into the first week of February D: Where did all the days go~ Anyway, I’ve a few products that I’ve been reaching out more than ever for the month of January and I’d like to share them with you! Here we go…

  1. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in Classic Ivory

I’ve been wanting to get this foundation for the LONGEST time, and Pea brought it back for me from the US <3 And of course, it didn’t disappoint at all. At first I was pretty hesitant about it. Even though all the reviews online/on youtube were 90% positive, I’m not a fan of matte finish foundations, that’s why I prefer BB creams cause of their dewy finish. But, this foundation is just amazing:

1) The coverage is great, I can get a medium-full coverage with just one layer, then I will put extra layer on areas where I need more coverage.

2) It has a matte finish yet it doesn’t highlight my dry patches, it also didn’t make my face flat!

3) I was pretty doubtful about its staying power as well cause Singapore is crazy humid, but this has proven to not budge throughout the day. One of the best staying power I’ve seen in a foundation (And this is drugstore!!! Extra love for that!)

  1. Urban Decay NAKED 3 Palette

Another big great love of mine. My birthday present from Pea

If you see my #fotds (I post daily on my dayre), you can tell how much and how often I reach out for this palette! I was away for a weekend and I literally was missing my Naked 3 colours. Talk about crazy and overly attached!!

My favourite colours are: Dust, Buzz, Nooner and Factory.

Dust is a very difficult colour to work with because of the high glitter content and fallouts, but it is too pretty. I can never say no to pale pink glitter can I? It’s especially gorgeous on the inner corners/first half of the eyelid. You can try using an eyelid primer/any cream products so that the glitter sticks better to your eyelids :)

Buzz is a bright pinky purple colour and I usually use it as my main lid colour. It’s the perfect pop of pink for my eyes.

I really didn’t expect Nooner to look good on my skin tone. I thought it was pretty intimidating when I first saw the colour. But as soon as I put it on, I fell in love <3 It's the best blending colour ever!

Factory works well as my outer corners colour! It is not too harsh and I feel like I don’t even need to spend extra time to blend out any harsh edges with this cuz it just blends out so nicely on its own!

The rest of the colours are super pretty too, and very easy to work with for daily wear. Heck I even wear them to school! Haha.

  1. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black

I’ve been using Dollywink Liquid Liner in Black for the longest time. In fact, that’s one of the most used items in my make-up collection. I have about 6 empties and 2 new ones.

However, I recently saw this on Ingrid's (missglamorazzi on youtube) video and was tempted to try! Went to Sephora and they were having a sale for the whole set of Stila Liquid Liners (Colours included: Full sized Intense Black, mini sized Brown, Green and Navy Blue) - it was fate and I bought it.

It runs pretty watery when I first used it, in fact now sometimes it is still liquidy upon application, so you’d need to wait a few seconds for it to dry before opening your eyes or you will have prints on your upper lids haha. But the main point is that it. really. stays. all. day. I thought my Dollywink was already a HG, but this one is really good too! The tip is more stiff than Dollywink so it'll be easier to work with for liquid liner beginners as compared to Dollywink.

My eyelids are oil factories and I always get smudges/prints on my lower lids by the end of the day. However this one stayed on pretty damn well! I didn’t have any problems with it at all :D

  1. Catrice Long Lasting Eye Pencil Waterproof in 010 New Kids on The Black

This thing is amazing. As I’ve said, tight lining never worked on me because of my oily lids and I guess the shape of my eyes also made tight lining even harder to last. But I really hate seeing the flesh in between my lashes!!!! >:O

Bought this a month ago just for fun cuz it was really cheap and I couldn’t rub it off my hand after I tested it on. And I was surprised to find that when I put it on my upper lash lines, it doesn’t smudge!!! After the whole day, it has super limited smudges which can easily be wiped off AND my upper lash line is still lined! Can you imagine how happy I was to be able to find something that works for tight lining AND only costs S$4.90??? Definitely a super good steal. Plus they have other colours as well that I like to line my lower lash lines with :)

A little tip to make sure this lasts is to add some black eyeshadow on top of it.

  1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface

I got this as one of my birthday presents as well! Hehe~ Same old story, I’ve been waiting patiently for Tarte to arrive in Singapore cuz I’ve been eyeing their blushes :) But when they came, I decided to get the foundation instead. Lex got this for me, and this is my fav shade out of the whole lot cause it is a bright pink colour - my go to blush colour!

You know how some blushes are just either way TOO pigmented that a slight swipe makes you look like a China doll and some have NO pigmentation at all no matter how many layers you put you still can’t have any flush? This is just nice. Like, a little sweep will not make you look crazy yet too many layers won’t either. Am I making sense? You need to try it to get what I mean!!

I also love love love the packaging. It just looks so.. Classy? Haha. I don’t know how to describe it but it fits super nicely on my hand and I just really like how it looks!

GIMME MORE~

  1. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom

I’ve had this for close to 2 years maybe and I stopped using it the last year cause… I have too many other lip balms/lipsticks/lip glosses to use. But one day, my lips were cracking like crazy and I wasn’t able to use my lipsticks, I was really pale then as well so I decided to whip this out and boy…… The colour is ultra gorgeous!!!

I was in shock ok. It’s a soft pink colour that can very well be one of my MLBB shades. The rest is history. This is now back in my bag as a staple lip colour. It makes me happy, cause no matter what eye colour/blush colour I have on my face, this matches perfectly :)

  1. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Venom

If you read my previous posts, you’d have known I was dying to get this colour. But I couldn’t really bear to spend so much on a lipstick colour that I know I won’t wear out more than twice in a month!!! Lex got this for me as well, and I love it:

1) It is very, very moisturising. I can have it on the whole day and won’t have my lips cracked at the end of the day.

2) It is super, duper pigmented. One swipe is enough for the colour to show!! That’s why this range works really well for crazy bright colours like the reds, hot pinks and dark plums :)

3) The colours available are all so nice. Seriously if I had to choose, I won’t know how many I’ll go home with cuz I definitely can’t pick just one to bring home??

4) The packaging. Heavy duty, shiny and just so pretty. I love it!

  1. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Standout

THIS IS THE PERFECT RED LIPSTICK. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE???

I love this, wrote an entire review raving about it here. Nuff said :)

Pea's January'14 favorites

How did everyone survive the first month of 2014?
I'm still pretty much on the fence about it so we'll see which side I fall on as the months pass.

Anyw, here are my favorites for Jan!
Yes, I love my colors. But apparently black is my 'lucky' color this year. I say, if one year tells me my lucky color is pink... Let's not digress.

I'll start with the Benefit Porefessional
This tube is so pretty and cute and I just wanna stick it in my pocket all day.
I have primers. All kinds. Mattifying, brightening, correcting, you name it, I (most probably) have it, but I keep reaching for this because it makes my face so soft! It applies like a dream and it makes my foundation goes on so smoothly. I am definitely gonna repurchase the regular-sized one.

Movin' on! Bourjois Happy Light Foundation (no. 50)
I've been picking up foundations in yellow-toned because my pink face do not in any way match my yellow neck. So this is the lightest yellow-based shade Bourjois carry and there is a very pretty peachy pink toned one as well. They don't have much color selection which is a bummer for most but this is the first time (I think) that I've seen a foundation shade lighter than no. 51 in the Bourjois line. This foundation is true to its name. It has a light to medium coverage and I go to this for my no-makeup makeup days. It's a my-skin-but-better when applied with a light hand and with a primer, it can last for a good 8-12 hours. It feels so light and I always forget I'm wearing foundation. I apply it with a buffing brush for better coverage and I use about 2 pumps for my entire face. Plus points for the pump and cap!

Next up is the Jouer Blusher (Peony)
I've heard about this brand and decided to try it out after my boyf's sister asked me to bring it back for her! I'm a blusher-girl. Didn't used to be. Now I'm an addict. The packaging is sleek and kinda cool. If you buy the blushes in different shades or even the bronzers, you can slide the sides in to make one palette. How neat?! And I love this Barbie shade of pink. It's pigmented and a little goes a long way. It blends easily and stays on forever, even on my oily-ish cheeks. However, I remember it being a little pricier than regular drug-store blushes.

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Waterproof Mascara
I've bought this mascara ages ago and I know I'm not suppose to keep my eye makeup for this long....but this costs a bomb and it works perfectly still. Well, I'm not blind yet. I forgot about this mascara until recently and have found myself reaching for it daily. Because a picture speaks a thousand words...
Look at how pretty they make my lashes! But I know Flo won't like these hahaha cause too neat.

This mascara had amazing curl-holding power and doesn't smudge or flake. Love it. Can see it going back to my top list of mascaras. And plus it's easy to remove. I don't have to tug or pull on my lashes to get those mascara off.

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon ( Blacquer #42)
I love this. Idk how to further say this. I love this to death. I use this for tight lining. The pigment is rich and application so so smooth. It has an awesome sleek packaging and it is a twist-up with detachable sharperner. Wear time is awesomeballz for a good 8 hours without fading or migrating or flaking. I tear easily when my eyes are dry so the waterproof claim is true. I cannot wait to go back and get the other colors!

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Lip Balm (Pink Me Up)
Ever since I came back from the states, my lips have been chapped like no freaking business. It's peel-ly and chapped and gross. I only bought one cause well, I bought the rest of the baby lips in all the color and decided I needed just one out of the entire medicated line. Well, I love it. It keeps my chapped lips at bay and makes my lippies go on so prettily and smoothly. Plus it gives this tinge of pink like, MLBB and I believe the rest of the six shades are super soft and pretty too. Gonna stock up on these when I'm back in NYC.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm (110 Coquette)
A huge fan of all the balms, no doubt this has become one of my go-to easy application lip color. This color is a sweet bubblegum-ish pink but the only thing that leaves me little annoyed is the silver bits of glitter that gets stuck even when all the color is gone. It makes you look all kinds of funky. But for the color pay-off, I don't give two hoots about silver bits.

Guerlain Météorites Perles (Teint Rose)
I've always wanted to try this all-raved product and I picked up this travel sized duo that comes with a cute little pink brush at Narita Airport. I picked Teint Rose cause it is supposedly used to neutralize slight redness and it has pink, white, yellow, lavender, and minty green pearls. I use this as a finishing powder OVER my setting powder cause I feel that my oily-combi skin requires more setting. But this powder gives me this 3D overall glow, instead of the flat/matte look that my setting powder gives. It somehow magically makes me look super awake and glowy. I secretly love he pink brush that comes with it because it fits into the small circular box and is of a good size to swirl around the tin to get an even amount of product. I washed it several times and it now feels soft and fluffy, instead of the scratchy feeling it gave initially. Definitely getting the actual size.

To sum it up.

Ok whew, this is longer than I expected. How do you guys like this? Should we shorten or lengthen these posts? Haha let us know pls!!

Till the next.
love,
Pea.

Review & Swatches: Sleek Blush by 3

[Products are not sponsored and all reviews are honest opinions!]

Hi loves! Pea here. I've got about 50 shades of pink (I might be exaggerating a little) to share with you all today!

So Flo introduced me to my first Sleek blush palette about a year ago (omg, has it been that long?!) and it's the Blush by 3 in Lace. [i apologize for the faint name colors at the bottom of each palette!!]
So I was damn amazed by the pigment. I've used Lace at least 20 times the past year and there's barely a scratch because you only need like one dab of your brush and plenty of dusting away excess. We'll, unless your aim is to look like an orange or apple then by all means go ahead haha
So this year I've added two more Sleek Blush by 3 palettes to my collection! Pink Spirit and Sweet Cheeks (I keep thinking of a baby's butt btw) haha

LACE: Crochet // Guipure // Chantily
Lace is a coral orangey based blush with three very pigmented powder blushes. Chantily is a coral shade is slightly more bluish and darker than Crochet. Guipure is filled with such a beautiful gold sheen. This picture/swatch is not doing it justice. I normally use it as a highlight on tip of the blush itself.

PINK SPIRIT: Pinktini // Pink Ice // Pink Parfait
Pink Spirit is very magenta/berry palette with three powder blushes as well. As seen, the left is a red and it looks very intimidating but it's not really! I use my fingers to dab the color on my cheeks and then a brush to blend it out to this wonderful satin finish. The middle one is a HAWT pink haha I luv it. Utmost right is this mauve-ish pink and it is absolutely beautiful. I think because I'm slightly fairer, it doesn't take a lot of these to show.

SWEET CHEEKS: Candy floss // Dollymix / Cupcake
My absolute favorite is the latest one in Sweet Cheeks. It's the limited edition Candy collection and I got lucky on Qoo10! On the right is a cream blush which shows this sweet Barbie pink and it blends amazingly with my fingers. Middle is a matte pale pink to lilac color. I wasn't expecting the last shade. I'm not sure what to call it..it's this pink with a slight peachy-coral hints with fine shimmers in it.

All the swatches were done with two swipes of my fingers so these is how amazingly pigmented the blushes are!

Sleek blushes can be found on Luxola.com and Q10 but prices varies! Flo just told me about their new releases and now I'm itching to get Pink Lemonade!!! Haha

And a huge face under natural sunlight to end! I'm wearing the Sweet Cheeks cream blush and a dust of the pale pink one above it. LUV IT. The blush lasts for almost 7-8 hours with primer and I really use A LITTLE. It goes a looooooong way.

ok, ending off here!
Love,
Pea

Review: Revlon Balm Stain VS Revlon Matte Balm

[Products are not sponsored and all reviews are honest opinions!]

Hi!! :)

It's no secret that I've loved the original Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for a very long time, and I was super excited when I found out they came out with two new versions - the Matte Balms and the Lacquer Balms!

I saw the reviews on Youtube a few months back and was dying to get my hands on them. Sadly, Singapore hasn't had it yet then, so Pea kindly brought the Matte Balms back for me from the US :) According to the reviews I've read and watched, the Lacquer Balms are nothing extremely special/good, so I decided to skip them and stuck to only the Matte Balms.

However now that they're out in Singapore, I'm itching to try out the Lacquer Balms too. HAHAHA. Will add on my little review here if I do get them ^^

For now let's talk about the original Balm Stains vs the Matte Balm~!

First up, the original Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain:

These are like the best fusion of a lip balm and a lipstick in the market. Even though the colour is sheer, it is very much build-able. It is also super moisturising and I love the mint tinge to it! Not forgetting that since it's a stain, it really really stays on your lips. Haha.

I have them in 4 colours:

These are very lightly swatched. So you can imagine how build-able the colours really are. I first bought the colours Honey and Cherish. Honey is one of my MLBBs, I used it till the cap broke and I had to tape it together to prevent it from falling apart HAHA. And cause I really loved the formula (it's always moisturising > anything else for me in a lip product), I got another two - Adore and Sweetheart. Adore is a very blue based red that I always use as a base before rocking my red lips. It helps my lips to stay moisturised! It also looks great sheer :)

Next up, the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm:

The packaging is exactly the same as the Balm Stains, but these come in matte finish and I really love it! These are not as moisturising but THE COLOURS ARE SO PIGMENTED, and they last throughout the day/night. Unless I eat something really oily then my inner lips will be of a lighter shade than the outline of my lips hahaha. But other than that, it's really quite amazing! I was drinking Koi and the colour didn't even transfer onto my straw!!!

I got them in 4 colours as well:

These are lightly swatched as well! I think I only swiped once up and down. My favourite colour out the bunch has got to be Standout. It's the perfect red shade that I can wear anywhere. If I want it to look more intense I'd add a layer of Shameless so it looks more plumy :) On the other hand, Mischievous is a pretty tough colour to rock cause it's a really true orange colour. I have to finish it off with a gloss to make it less harsh (I still love it tho).

So overall, I really super love these Revlon Balms and I'd rate them 4.5/5 (Revlon please release more colours hahaha).

If you're hesitant to pick these out, don't be! Give them a try and you won't look back :)

These Revlon Balm Stains, Matte Balms and Lacquer Balms are now available at most Watsons stores and John Little, they retail at S$19.90 each :)

xx,
Flo

Review: Covergirl Clump Crusher + Giveaway

[Products are not sponsored and all reviews are honest opinions!]

Hi guys! Pea here.
Gonna cover a review on the Covergirl Clump Crusher today.
I'm a HUGE fan of the line and I have almost all the lashblasts - length, volume, fusion...
My name is pearlyn and I'm a makeup addict.

So back to the point.
I picked this up cause Flo's friend - lexygraceeee (read her at lexygraceeee.blogspot.sg) wanted me to help get this for her. And I was super excited to try it out.

It comes in a normal lashblast packaging and my color is Very Black. They also carry waterproof and non-waterproof versions but Singapore is hot and humid and wet, I knew I have no other choice but to get the waterproof one.

This is how the brush looks like.

[pardon messy brows] I am blessed with naturally long eyelashes and I think they are my best asset HAHA but my eyelashes are stick straight. But nth to worry about with a curler right? So this is a picture of my lashes without bring curled to show you guys the full length

1. Left: uncurled with no mascara // Right: curled with two layers of clump crusher
2. Left: curled without mascara // Right: curled with two layers of clump crusher
3. Both curled and mascara-ed!!

Ok, I love the mascara in general. But here are the pros and cons

Pros:
1. No spidery lashes. Just fluffy, wispy realistic ones
2. Black. They are so black.
3. No smudges/flaking whatsoever with 8-12hours of wear
4. Curved brush that fits the eye so it coats the eyelashes pretty evenly and reaches the shorter ones near the corner of my eyes
5. A variety of normal shades!

Cons:
1. It doesn't hold curls. I'm not sure why and I'm pretty sure the one I got is waterproof!
2. I would kill for slightly more volume even though that's not it's job haha

Otherwise, I really love this mascara and it was only USD$9.99 (if I rmbr correctly) at CVS.

we have ONE more Covergirl clump rusher to giveaway! Just go the link at the side and like our IG photo on the Covergirl clump crusher and stand to win! Good luck!

Love,
Pea
